Trail Description: The Hereford Area is a noncontiguous area with many access points to multiple trail heads. To access Horse trailer parking on Bunker Hill Rd, off of 83N take a right off exit 27 and at the traffic light, turn left onto York Road. Pass Hereford High School and turn left onto Bunker Hill Road. Continue on Bunker Hill Road to the first parking lot on the left above the river. The address given is the closest address to the horse trailer parking.  You will want to park in the first parking lot instead of continuing on.  The road down to the parking lot is bumpy and has various pot holes. It is also very narrow.  Park your horse trailer along the right or left edges of the parking lot.  Bring your own chairs, water access, and muck supplies and there are none in the parking lot.  There are bathrooms if you follow the walking bath down the paved path that will be open Spring 2018. The Gunpowder South Trail, blazed white, crosses the road a few yards uphill from the parking area. 5.3 miles on Gunpowder South Trail Time 2+ hours, depending upon the selected trail No bicycles or motorized vehicles in wildlands. Pets must be on a leash. No parking is permitted at the Prettyboy Dam. Be alert for places where land is being undermined by river erosion. Stick to the blazed trail where it veers away from the river to avoid these areas. Water and restrooms are available at Camp Wood near the Bunker Hill trailhead. Carry in your own water for the duration of the ride.
