Trail Ride

Ride Out Time: PROMPTLY 10:30AM (plan arrival accordingly)

Located in Carroll County, the Morgan Run Natural Environment Area (part of the Patapsco Valley State Park), is comprised of approximately 2,000 acres of natural area. Hiking and equestrian trails are popular. Dogs, on leash, are allowed. There are 3.4 miles of trails, most of which are mowed turf (horses without shoes will be fine). The area is mostly flat with some rolling hills. We will also ride through a forested area with one water crossing. This will be a moderately paced ride, with an opportunity for some trotting and cantering. We expect to ride until about noon.

After the ride, we can have lunch at the picnic table in the grassy area next to the gravel parking lot. Bring your lunch and lawn chairs. The ride hosts will provide dessert and cold water.

There may or may not be a port-a-pot, so please plan for that accordingly (TBD). Please bring horse water and a clean up rake/bucket.

Directions: Going north on Route 97/New Washington Road, turn right onto Bartholow Road and take the first left on Ben Rose Lane. Drive to the end of the road to enter the large, gravel parking lot for the Morgan Run Natural Environment Area.

As always, this ride is free to TROT members. Non-members are welcome to join for $10.

This ride is FULL, we are only allowing 10 riders TOTAL to comply with the recommendations set for trail riding by the DNR.
